Bevan Surveyors is an independent practice run by Jonathan Bevan, a Chartered Surveyor with over 23 years experience in providing professional surveying services and property advice.
Why Choose Bevan Surveyors? Being an independent surveyor and not linked to any lender or estate agency I can provide truly independent advice that can only really be obtained from a small private surveying practice.
Tell Me About Your Qualifications? Honours degree in Valuation & Estate Management from UWE and achieved MRICS status after working for King Sturge & Co.
What Experience Do You Have? I have been a surveyor for 23 years and have experience in valuation and building surveying of residential and commercial property.
What Areas Do You Cover? Based in Stoke Bishop, serving not only Bristol but also the entire area of North Somerset, South Gloucester, Somerset, South East Wales and the surrounding areas. I have experience in surveying property from Abergavenny to Wells, Taunton to Tewkesbury as well as all areas in between including the Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, Clevedon, Portishead, Weston-Super-Mare and in Wales, Newport, Cardiff, Monmouth and Chepstow.
What Type Of Surveys Do You Provide? Bevan Surveyors specialise in pre-purchase inspections of residential property including Building Surveys, The RICS Homebuyer Survey and Specific Defect Reports. However, did you know we undertake surveys on Commercial Property including Schedules of Condition?
Could I Meet You At The Property? With Building Surveys I would encourage this as it will help you to understand more fully the end report in context of the property. It is subject to permission from the vendor but this is not normally a problem.
Should I Bother With A Survey? Purchasing a house or flat is the biggest financial commitment most people make in their lifetime; although your mortgage provider may conduct a valuation, this simply provides them with a financial assessment of your property’s approximate value for loan purposes.
Employing the services of a professional surveyor will give you a full and detailed report, and uncover any potential faults of a property before you buy thus enabling you to make an informed decision and avoid unseen costs once you’ve moved in.
